Neal Ardley yesterday bolstered his attacking options by completing the signing of experienced winger Lloyd Sam.
The deadline this season for EFL clubs to sign players expired at 5 pm yesterday (Thursday) and Wimbledon also gained international clearance for Lloyd, who spent five years playing in the MLS with New York Red Bulls and DC United.
With Cody McDonald ruled out through injury, Neal believes that Lloyd will be a useful addition at a critical time, as Wimbledon seek vital points in the battle to stay up.
Neal Ardley said: “Lloyd has been with us for a month or two now, training and getting fit. We wanted to have a look at him and he is a tricky right-winger, an attacking player. Obviously, with us losing Cody we just felt we needed another player. What part he can play until the end of the season, is always tight, but he is on a short-term deal.”
